9/11 Candlelight Vigil &
Helping Humanity Fundraiser for
Katrina Victims

Dear All,

Just one word "Katrina" brings images of devastation and misery of biblical proportion to mind. As it is our islamic duty, starting from last Friday we are collecting donations to help the suffering humanity. We are still collecting donations.

We are going to have a special event at the Woodland Mosque, CA, on SUNDAY 9/11/2005, in addition to a 9/11 program & candle light vigil , we will fund raiser for Katrina victims.

We will present  the funds to the representative of the AMERICAN ED CROSS..

I urge you  to please donate $20-$50-$100 or whatever you wish for this cause of helping humanity. Make your tax deductible donation to "Muslim Mosque Woodland" Katrina Relief Fund and mail it to:

AMV co-sponsor 9/11 vigil at U.S. capitol
Event to mark anniversary of attack, promote interfaith unity

On Friday, September 9, 2005, the American Muslim Voice, joins an interfaith candlelight vigil sponsored by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) at the Capitol Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C., to mark the fourth anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks.

Along with the vigil, the event will include remarks by interfaith leaders and presentation of CAIR's "Voice of Unity Award." Islamic sunset prayers (Maghrib) will be held immediately after the event.

Where: Capitol Reflecting Pool, Washington, D.C. (The reflecting pool is located on the West side of the U.S. Capitol building near the base of the stairs and is just East of 3rd Street, between Constitution and Independence Avenues. Note: This location should not be confused with the Reflecting Pool located between the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial.)

Co-sponsors of the vigil include: InterFaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington, Coordinating Council of Muslim Organizations (Washington, D.C.), September Eleventh Families for Peaceful Tomorrows, All Dulles Area Muslim Society, Muslim Public Affairs Council, American Muslim Voice, and the Interfaith Alliance.
