American Muslim Voice condemns London terror plot

August 10, 2006 - American Muslim Voice today condemned the alleged plot to blow up planes traveling between Britain and U.S. and stressed solidarity with all Americans in protecting the security of the nation.

British authorities announced in London today that they had thwarted a terrorist plot to blow up multiple airliners traveling between Britain and the United States, creating "mass murder on an unimaginable scale."

The statement of the AMV reads:

“American Muslim Voice strongly condemns the terrorist plan to blow up aircraft traveling between Britain and the United States that was timely uncovered.

"American Muslim Voice stands in solidarity with all Americans in unequivocal condemnation of terrorism. The AMV is committed to protecting the safety and security of our nation. It is relieved that alleged airline blow up terrorism plot was foiled.

The AMV President Khalid Saeed urged the  American Muslim community to  continue to maintain vigilance and protect the security of our communities, our mosques and our nation.
“I also ask public officials and commentators to avoid using stereotypical and distracted terminology when referring to this and similar cases."
