Remembering Our Past and Creating a Peaceful Future
An intergenerational and interfaith gathering for Memorial Day
Why: To foster friendships and to build peaceful communities. In order to create peace in our world we need to learn from our past and work towards creating a peaceful future together. To over come our differences and fears we must make an effort to get to know each other. Only through personal contact and by accepting, cherishing, respecting all human beings we will move towards peaceful and harmonious future.
Please join us in creating a peaceful and harmonious future. Everyone is invited to this community-wide, friendship-making event.
Where: At the Mitchell Park Pine Grove area, Palo Alto, CA (East Meadow)
When: Memorial Day, Monday, May 30
Time: 12noon - 4 pm (food starts at noon, most activities between 1-3pm).
Activities: There will be music, games, face-painting, story-telling, singalongs, crafts and more, all with a focus on peace-building and justice-making.
Food: We will provide Pakistani spicy food, hot dogs (regular, kosher and vegetarian), breads and drinks Please bring some food to share. Preferably vegetarian.
This is an opportunity to get to know one another and build deeper relationships with people of different faiths, ages and cultures. Children, adults, singles and families of all shapes and sizes are welcome.
