Riva Enteen’s letters to Congressman King
 and Director Boyce

Dear Congressman King,

As a former resident of your district, I would like to express my shock at your remarks about the American Muslim community.  In my 35 years as a social justice activist, I have come across many examples of racism, but your comments are among the most offensive.

I am a Jewish mother of two children who believes in the richness of cultural diversity and open communication to foster trust and peace among peoples.  Your comments fly in the face of the security and peace we all say we are working towards.

In the name of the universal aspiration towards peace, I strongly urge you to issue an apology to the American Muslim community.  I don't believe you want your patently false accusations to remain your legacy of elected office.

Sincerely,

Dear Director Boyce,

Please read the forwarded message to Rep. Peter King.

I urge you to invite Muslim community leaders on your program to address Congressman King's patently false accusations.

As a newly elected member of the KPFA Local Station Board, I urge you to respect the function of radio, which is provide diverse and accurate information.

Without people's access to the truth, democracy has no future.

Sincerely,

Riva Enteen
