AMV Executive Director sworn in as Human Relations Commissioner of Santa Clara County
Santa Clara County, CA. Pete McHugh--Santa Clara County Supervisor, District 3 has appointed Samina Faheem Sundas as a commissioner to the Human Relations Commission. Samina is the founder of The American Muslim Voice. She was sworn in on Sept. 26, 2006.
As American Muslim Voice (AMV) is committed to bridge the gap between all communities and foster life long friendships with all. Ms. Sundas stated that she is looking forward to work with such diverse group of people. It will be great to work on issues that impact all of us.
"The mission statement of the Human Relations Commission is very compatible with the work of AMV as the commission states that its mission is to advocate
for and take positive action to eliminate prejudice and discrimination based on race, religion, national origin, cultural background, sex, age, sexual orientation or disability and to promote PEACE and HARMONY between individuals and/or groups in the community." Sundas said
